
It is possible to download SIGMA DP1 Firmware.
The firmware is a program, which runs inside the camera and controls its operation.

- SIGMA DP1 Firmware Ver.1.04
This firmware update should be applied to any DP1 camera that has firmware Ver.1.03 and lower.
* If your camera already has firmware Ver.1.04, you do not need this update.

[Ver. 1.04]
- A customizing function has been added to the Digital Zoom button.
- The ft (feet) indicator has been added to the scale bar in MF mode.

- ISO 50 has been added into the ISO setting.
- Grid Display mode shows Display Icons.
- Shorten the pre-flash time in the Red-eye reduction flash mode.

- Correct the phenomenon that the "currently selected file" will be deleted, if the camera is turned off when the camera display remained in Delete Menu.
[Ver. 1.01]
- Corrects the phenomenon of intermittent camera freeze under certain conditions.
- The accuracy of the indication of the number of images that can be recorded with RAW format has been improved.
- The grid display mode for picture taking is added to the LCD monitor. (It cannot be used in MF mode and movie mode)
NOTICE OF FUNCTION CHANGE

Turn on camera power.
Press the MENU/OK button on the back of the camera to open the Set Up menu.
Select "Firmware" menu.
Use the 4-Way Controller to open the sub menu and then select "Current version".
The installed firmware information will be displayed.
* If the version information is "Ver.1.03" and lower, it is necessary to update to this new firmware version.

Customers using Sigma’s DP1
* Please note; this firmware cannot be used with the SIGMA SD DSLR series.


If the camera is turned off during the update procedure, it might cause a malfunction and damage your camera.
To avoid causing a malfunction, please read the following carefully, before updating the firmware.
- Please use dedicated AC adapter or a fully charged battery.
- Do not open the BATTERY/CARD COVER or operate camera during the firmware update.
- Do not turn off the camera during the firmware update.

- Please use 256MB or larger SD/SDHC card and format the card in the camera body.
* To avoid loss of your important data, please check the SD/SDHC card before formatting.
- Please connect a card reader containing the SD/SDHC card or the DP1 to your computer and click the Download button or right click on the mouse (if you use a Macintosh computer, please press Control + click) to store the firmware file in the SD/SDHC card root directory (Please do not store in subfolder such as "SDIM").
* If the firmware is downloaded whilst the camera is connected to your computer, please turn off your camera before disconnecting it from your computer.

Insert the SD/SDHC card containing the firmware into your camera and turn on the DP1.
* It is not necessary to connect the camera body to your computer.

Press the MENU/OK button on the back of the camera to display the Set Up menu.

Select the "Firmware" menu.

Press the right button of the 4-Way Controller to open the sub menu and select "Firm update", then press the MENU/OK button to display the following message.

Press the MENU/OK button again to start the firmware update. (It takes about two minutes to update.)

When the "Firmware update is completed" message is displayed, the update has finished.
* Please do not operate the camera until the "Firmware update is completed" message is displayed.

Select "Firmware" from the Set Up menu and confirm the firmware is updated to "Ver.1.04" with "Current version". If "Ver.1.04" is displayed, the update is complete.
